Psychedelic integration
A clinical, research-informed framework
Are you planning to have a psychedelic experience, or have you recently had one that feels difficult to process?
Navigating the profound territory of expanded states of consciousness requires a grounded, safe, and professional space.
Preparation is the foundation of a safe journey and builds a framework of inner readiness focusing on harm reduction, managing expectations, and defining clear intentions. Preparation ensures you enter the experience with the tools and the mindset necessary to navigate the altered state with safety and agency.
An experience is only as transformative as its integration into daily life. Integration is the process of translating insights, visions, and emotions into meaningful, lasting change. Integration is a space to sit with the experience, make sense of the symbolic material, and bridge the gap between the "journey" and your everyday reality, preventing the experience from becoming a fragmented memory.
This way of working with the deeper parts of yourself can be a time-limited experience comprising a certain number of sessions or become a longer term journey of discovery, growth and self-actualization.
As a therapist and clinical researcher at Maastricht University, I am informed by the latest scientific developments in psychedelic-assisted therapy. A non-judgmental, compassionate and grounded perspective is crucial to acknowledge the spiritual or mystical value of the experience while anchoring them in one’s present life.
